Contact enrichment takes a record holding little more than a name and fills it with the public information that exists about that company.

What it is

A routine that, when a new contact arrives, looks up what is publicly available about it, in sources such as Racius, and writes back what it finds: tax number, registered name, activity code, address, standing. The salesperson stops opening three tabs to work out who they are talking to, and the record is usable on arrival instead of waiting for someone with time.

It fills what is empty and flags, rather than overwrites, when what it finds disagrees with what was already there. The source of each field is recorded.

Where it pays off

It pays off when contacts arrive by form or by email carrying the minimum the person bothered to type. It is the difference between a database you can search and segment and a list of loose names, and it is what makes it possible to know, later, what kind of company actually buys.

How we build it

We decide which fields are worth filling and which always stay with a person, choose the sources and the order they are consulted in, and settle what happens when two disagree. It runs as each new contact arrives and can be run once over what is already there. What is public stays public, and nothing the routine writes is left without a recorded origin.

Frequently asked questions

Where does the information come from?

From public sources about companies, such as Racius. It is information that is already public about that entity, and the origin of each filled field is recorded on the record.

Is this compliant with GDPR?

It handles company data from public registries, not profiles of individuals. Even so, what gets filled, where it comes from and how long it is kept are decisions to take with you and to document, not a technical detail.

And if it writes over what I already had?

It does not. It fills what is empty and, when what it finds disagrees with what was there, flags it for a person to look at. What you wrote always wins.
