Guided product creation
AI creates products and services in the ERP with no duplicates or incomplete records: it checks first whether the item exists and guides every field, keeping the database clean.
Guided product creation uses AI to open new products and services in the ERP with no duplicates or incomplete records: it first checks whether the item already exists, then walks the person through every field, even searching the web for the missing information.
What it is
A controlled path for creating products and services in the ERP. Before creating anything, the AI searches the catalogue to see whether the item already exists, so it never generates duplicates. If it really is new, it guides the person through every mandatory and useful field, and helps find the information, searching the web when needed. Only what is complete and correct reaches the ERP. It runs on Claude connected to the ERP through a connector (MCP).
Where it pays off
It makes sense in any SME whose ERP catalogue tends to fill up with duplicates, half-finished records and badly classified products. Those are the problems that later break the automations, reports and searches that depend on that data. It keeps the database clean at the point of entry, which is where it is cheap to keep clean, instead of fixing it downstream.
How we build it
We study the catalogue's rules (mandatory fields, categories, how to recognise a duplicate) and connect the AI to the ERP through an MCP. We define the duplicate check, the fill-in script and the sources to search. We test on real products, make sure nothing incomplete gets through, and tune until creation is fast for whoever uses it and safe for the database.
Where we've built this
This workflow isn't theoretical. See the real project where we implemented it.
